Ray Rice wasn’t the only Raven who took home some bling in the NFL Honors awards.
Wide receiver Torrey Smith’s amazing performance against the New England Patriots in Week 3 was recognized with an award Saturday night.
The award recognizes the top moment or play that symbolizes “determination and perseverance.”
Smith stole the spotlight in the Ravens’ 31-30 comeback victory in September over the Pats, snagging six passes for 127 yards and two TDs less than 24 hours after his little brother, Tevin Jones, died in a motorcycle crash.
Smith returned to the team’s hotel just hours prior to kickoff after learning of his brother’s death.
Torrey played through pain and suffering and helped Baltimore defeat the Patriots after losing to them in the 2011-12 AFC championship game.
