Johnny Unitas will soon have some company.
The Baltimore Ravens confirmed this morning that a statue of legendary linebacker Ray Lewis, who retired after the team’s Super Bowl XLVII 34-31 victory over the San Francisco 49ers, will be erected at M&T Bank Stadium.
The news was announced this morning during owner Steve Bisciotti’s annual “State of the Ravens” press conference.
Word of the statue was confirmed via the following tweet sent by the official Baltimore Ravens Twitter account:
“Steve Bisciotti says there will be a statue of Ray Lewis going up somewhere around M&T Bank Stadium.”
No additional details have been made available at this time.
