Mother Monster is under the weather.
Yes, Lady Gaga has been forced to cancel four shows after admitting that she’s suffering from a condition called synovitis (a severe inflammation of the joints) that’s left her unable to walk.
A press release issued on Tuesday indicates that Gaga is “heartsick” over having to postpone performances set for February 13-14 in Chicago, February 16 in Detroit, and February 17 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
Gaga explained on Twitter, tweeting that she’d injured herself during a performance a while back and that her condition has now worsened, leaving her immobile.
She added that she’d been hiding the injury from members of her staff, but is no longer able to perform.
“I’ve been hiding a show injury and chronic pain for sometime now, over the last month it has worsened,” she wrote. “I’ve been praying it would heal.”
She also posted to Google+, saying:
There’s an unfortunate announcement coming out right now, concerning myself and the Born This Way Ball. Im so sorry. I barely know what to say. I’ve been hiding a show injury and chronic pain for sometime now, over the past month it has worsened. I’ve been praying it would heal. I hid it from my staff, I didn’t want to disappoint my amazing fans. However after last nights performance I could not walk and still can’t.
To the fans in Chicago Detroit & Hamilton I hope you can forgive me, as it is nearly impossible for me to forgive myself. Im devastated & sad. It will hopefully heal as soon as possible, I hate this. I hate this so much. I love you and Im sorry.
The rest of the “Born This Way Ball” should continue as planned, starting with a two-night stint in Philadelphia on February 19-20.
Makeup dates for the postponed shows will be announced at a later date.
