Maryland beat No. 2 Duke despite 26 turnovers, tied for the most turnovers in a regulation win by an ACC team in the past 15 seasons.
The Terps scored a win over Duke for the first time in their last seven meetings.
Alex Len had a team-high 19 points and nine boards and Seth Allen had 16 points, including the game-winning free throws.
The Terps shot 73 percent at the line, 60 percent from the field, and 30.8 percent from beyond the arc. They also out-rebounded Duke by 20.
The win represented coach Mark Turgeon’s brightest moment since taking over as coach in 2011.
Of tonight’s win, Turgeon said, “We weren’t extraordinary, but we played to our level. It’s one thing to play to Duke’s level-to beat them it’s something else.”
“There is a lot of pride in Maryland basketball,” Turgeon added. “There is a lot of passion. We played with those two things tonight for our fans.”
