Baltimore police say a county councilman had a blood-alcohol level of more than double the legal limit after he was arrested on drunk driving charges.
Councilman Todd Huff’s blood-alcohol level was .20 percent. The legal threshold for is currently .08 percent.
Huff was pulled over at around 3 a.m. on Saturday morning in Towson for driving without his headlights on.
According to the arrest paperwork, Huff, a freshman Republican who represents the 3rd Council District, asked the arresting officer, “Don’t you know who I am?”
The officer noted in his statement tht Huff smelled of alcohol and his speech was slurred and his eyes had a glassy appearance.
The documents also state that he asked whether field sobriety tests were really necessary and asked that the police officer drive him home and “be done with this.” He reportedly failed several sobriety tests.
