On Monday, the Maryland Jockey Club announced the lineup for the 2013 Preakness InfieldFest, and this year, Maryland’s biggest party will be headlined by superstar Pitbull and newcomers Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.
Pitbull, a native of Miami, FL, has a string of number one hits on the charts, including “Give Me Everything” off his Planet Pit album, which sold more than 1.7 million copies. He’s also known for “Don’t Stop the Party” and “Back in Time.”
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are relatively new to the scene, but have made waves with their hit “Thrift Shop,” which hit number one on the Billboard charts recently.
The 2013 Preakness InfieldFest will also feature live music on two other stages, but those acts have not yet been announced.
The Maryland Jockey Club also announced that it’s reducing the price of infield admission tickets by $10 for a 24-hour period. The regular infield tickets will be lowered to $40, while Mug Club tickets (where customers receive a souvenir mug for unlimited beer refills) will be dropped to $60 until 10 a.m. on Tuesday morning. Afterward, the tickets will return to their regular prices of $50 and $70, respectively, through May 11.
Prices increase to $60 for an infield ticket and $80 for the Mug Club during the week of the Preakness itself.
Tickets can be purchased by calling the Preakness sales office at 410-542-9400 or 877-206-8042 or by visiting Preakness.com.
