Officials in Worcester County are concerned about flooding – so much so, in fact, that they’ve now opened an emergency shelter.
Worcester County officials are letting residents know that Stephen Decatur Middle School, located at 9815 Seahawk Road, will be opened as an emergency shelter at 9:00 p.m. EST Wednesday night due to deteriorating weather conditions and coastal flooding.
The shelter is pet-friendly, and people bringing pets must bring their own cages, water and food.
Residents are also being advised to bring bedding, medicine, toys for children and/or any special dietary requirements.
Water wasn’t the only concern, however, as wind in Ocean City has downed tree limbs, traffic cameras and road signs.
