It now looks as though the drama may be over, for better or for worse.
ProFootballTalk reported earlier today that the Ravens were attempting to trade star receiver Anquan Boldin.
Now it looks like Boldin will at least be staying with the Harbaugh family.
Boldin has been traded to the 49ers in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick, according to the Baltimore Sun‘s Aaron Wilson.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh’s brother Jim Harbugh, himself a former Raven, is head coach of the San Francisco 49ers.
Over the weekend, Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco, who just inked a new deal making him the highest-paid player in the NFL, said he thought Boldin should stick to his guns in dealing with the Ravens, who reportedly asked the star receiver to take a pay cut to free up some salary cap room.
Now, it looks like Boldin will play next season for the Ravens’ Super Bowl XLVII opponents, the 49ers.
The Niners are taking Anquan Boldin’s contract without a pay cut…he’ll make the full $6 million next season.
UPDATE: Word travels fast. News of the trade caught at least two Ravens by surprise. Torrey Smith and Bernard Pollard have both reacted via Twitter…
