On Monday, Kendell Richburg, 36, pleaded guilty to drug conspiracy and possession of a firearm in the furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Richburg was an officer in the western police district.
He was arrested thanks to information gathered during a federal wiretap of his cell phone.
Richburg admitted possessing, with intent to distribute, controlled substances containing heroin.
He now faces a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison.
He will be sentenced on June 11th.
