Baltimore Police Badge Baltimore Police Officer Pleads Guilty to Drug ChargesA suspended Baltimore police officer has pleaded guilty to drug charges, specifically, conspiring to sell drugs like cocaine and heroin while in uniform.

On Monday, Kendell Richburg, 36, pleaded guilty to drug conspiracy and possession of a firearm in the furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.  Richburg was an officer in the western police district.

He was arrested thanks to information gathered during a federal wiretap of his cell phone.

Richburg admitted possessing, with intent to distribute, controlled substances containing heroin.

He now faces a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison.

He will be sentenced on June 11th.
