The Ravens continue to shed players from their Super Bowl-winning season.
The latest casualty is safety Bernard Pollard, whom the team released on Wednesday.
Pollard announced his departure via Twitter, and included a goodbye to Ravens’ fans:
Well Raven Nation it’s been fun. My time in Baltimore is done… Thank you!
Pollard, 28, was a big contributor in the Ravens’ Super Bowl title run, but this news – along with the release of Anquan Boldin – seems to be a sign that the club wants to move in a younger direction.
The move could be a good sign for the return of Ed Reed, though, as Pollard’s release frees up $1 million in salary cap space.
