Jessup home invasion: family shaken but OK

Home Invasion Jessup home invasion: family shaken but OKA family in Howard County is safe following an overnight home invasion and robbery.

The intruder in the case is still on the loose at this hour, according to the Washington Post.

Around 2:20 a.m. EDT on Wednesday morning, a woman phoned 911 to report that an armed male had broken into her home in the 7300 block of Montevideo Road.

The woman and other the home’s other residents, two more adults and two teens, locked themselves in an upstairs bedroom until help arrived.

Police arrived on the scene about ten minutes later to find signs of forced entry but the intruder had fled.

The family was found upstairs unharmed.

Police don’t have a description of the intruder yet, but he is believed to be armed and dangerous. Authorities believe the residence may have been targeted and the public is not thought be in danger.

The incident is now under investigation.
