A Baltimore native was killed and a women’s lacrosse team’s trip came to a tragic end on Saturday morning after the team bus crashed into a tree along the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
Several players were injured in the crash and two people died.
The bus carrying the Seton Hill University women’s lacrosse team crashed at around 9 a.m. EDT on Saturday.
Officials in Cumberland County coach Kristina Quigley, 30, a Baltimore native, was flown to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
Quigley was six months pregnant and her unborn baby also died.
The bus driver, 61-year-old Anthony Guaetta, died at the scene.
The team was heading to a Saturday afternoon game at Millersville University in central Pennsylvania for its fourth game of the year.
Seton Hill officials says they will hold a memorial Mass on campus Sunday night.
