Glenn Beck was one of the first to notice the similarities between the two, tweeting:
Anyone else think the Devil in #TheBible Sunday on History Channel looks exactly like That Guy?

The rest of Twitter seemed to agree with a myriad of tweets, mostly from Obama supporters, making the same point.
“The Bible” has been a ratings winner for The History Channel, drawing 13.1 million for its first episode and 10.8 million viewers for its second.
The show was executive produced by “Survivor” creator Mark Burnett and his wife, Roma Downey, who portrays the Virgin Mary.
They have commented on the issue, saying that the idea that the devil in the miniseries looks like President Obama is “utter nonsense.”
“This is utter nonsense,” Burnett and Downey said in a statement on Monday. “The actor who played Satan, Mehdi Ouzaani, is a highly acclaimed Moroccan actor. He has previously played parts in several Biblical epics — including Satanic characters long before Barack Obama was elected as our President.”
The History Channel also stated that the resemblance between the two was not intentional.
“History channel has the highest respect for President Obama. The series was produced with an international and diverse cast of respected actors,” the network said in a statement. “It’s unfortunate that anyone made this false connection. History’s ‘The Bible’ is meant to enlighten people on its rich stories and deep history.”
