Elvis Dumervil agrees to multiyear deal with Ravens

Elvis Dumervil Elvis Dumervil agrees to multiyear deal with RavensThe Baltimore Ravens have agreed to a five-year, $35 million deal with ex-Broncos DE Elvis Dumervil.

The deal reportedly features a $7.5 million signing bonus and a $1 million 2013 base salary.

A three-time Pro Bowler, Dumervil recorded 11 sacks in 2012.

Dumervil’s departure from Denver takes place just 10 weeks after Baltimore shocked the Broncos, 38-35 in double-overtime in the second-round of the AFC playoffs.

A botched fax transaction forced the Broncos to terminate Dumervil’s contract if the team was to avoid paying his $12 million salary.

The Ravens, meanwhile, were more than happy to scoop him up, having lost several key defensive players since the beginning of the free agency period, including Paul Kruger, Dannell Ellerbe, and Ed Reed…not to mention the retirement of Ray Lewis.
