The Boston Marathon bombing suspect who was killed in a hail of gunfire during a gun battle with authorities has been buried in Virginia.
Tamerlan Tsarnaev has been buried in a Muslim cemetery in Doswell.
Tsarnaev’s remains have been laid to rest at the Al-Barzakh Cemetery.
The suspect’s body was released by the medical examiner on May 1st, but many cemeteries refused to accept his remains.
Police in Worcester, Mass. said on Thursday that “a courageous and compassionate individual came forward to provide the assistance needed to properly bury the deceased.”
A Virginia woman reportedly approached the Islamic Society of Greater Richmond to assist in the matter, and the society secured a plot for Tsarnaev and coordinated the transfer of his remains.
