A Maryland woman is in hot water after Transportation Security Administration officials found a knife in her bag at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.
On Thursday night, the TSA noticed a double-edged hunting knife in the woman’s carry-on bag. The 12-inch knife featured a 6-inch long double-sided blade and was clipped in a black sheath.
Maryland Transportation Authority Police were then summoned to the security checkpoint, where they confiscated the knife and cited the woman on a weapons charge.
The woman was, however, allowed to catch her flight to Atlanta – minus the knife.
Officials say the incident bore no impact on airport operations.
