At about 3 p.m. ET, officers responded to a shooting along the 1100 block of West Cross Street.
Once there, police quickly obtained a suspect’s name, discovered that he was armed and found out which way he was running.
“These officers got information right at the scene,” said Deputy Commissioner Jerry Rodriguez of the Baltimore Police Department. ‘They got in their cars and started to look for the individuals who had just shot a victim multiple times.”
The suspect was still armed when police found him, Rodriguez said.
The suspect was shot multiple times as police attempted to take him into custody.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
