UPDATE: The suspect has been identified as Arnett Myers, 57, of the 11100 block of Pulaski Highway.

Detectives at this hour are investigating a fatal police-involved shooting in White Marsh.

At about 5:15 p.m. ET, officers responded to the Colony Motel in the 11000 block of Pulaski Highway in Baltimore County for a report of an assault.

A woman reported that a suspect on a motor scooter was causing a disturbance. When she asked him to leave, he drove the scooter in circles around her and then attempted to strike her with the scooter.

Officers then went to the suspect’s apartment at a rental facility several blocks away to discuss the assault.

During the investigation, they found that the suspect had an open failure-to-appear warrant for child support non-compliance. When officers attempted to arrest him, a struggle ensued.

The suspect then put his hand on an officer’s gun and attempted to pull the gun out of the holster. Fearing for his safety and the safety of other officers, another officer then fired at the suspect several times.

The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

As is standard procedure in these cases, the officer involved has been be placed on routine administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation.

The identity of the deceased suspect has not yet been revealed.
