On Tuesday night, officers arrested Damond Stansbury and charged him with first- and second-degree murder, along with six other charged in the death of 2-year-old Marlo McFadden.
The boy was beaten early Monday at his grandmother’s home in the 1600 block of Mountmour Court.
His grandmother was unable to revive the child and he was transported to Johns Hopkins Children’s Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
During the investigation, police interviewed two other children who were in the home, who said that Stansbury frequently hit Marlo, and that he had hit the boy in the head before he was taken to the hospital.
The boy’s grandmother told detectives that Stansbury was often mean to the boy and had shoved him.
Charging documents show that Cara Schaffer, the victim’s mother, told police that Stansbury had abused the boy at least 10 times in the past.
