CPR Emergency officials demonstrate new hands only CPR procedureBaltimore County Fire and EMS personnel gathered on Wednesday to raise awareness of the dangers of sudden cardiac arrest.

Dr. David Efrom, Director of Trauma and Chief of the Division of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at Johns Hopkins Hospital’s Department of Surgery, spoke to those in attendance at the event about how important CPR can be to saving someone’s life.

On January 28, Efron returned home to find his wife unconscious and in cardiac arrest.

Efron immediately performed CPR until emergency personnel arrived on the scene.

Rescue personnel also announced a new “hands-only” CPR initiative called “Lend a Hand, Save a Life.”
