Art students from Bel Air High School will this week unveil and present two murals they have painted honoring local fallen law enforcement and corrections officers.
The murals will be unveiled before Sheriff Jesse Bane on Wednesday, June 19th at 2 p.m. ET.
The 4’x8′ and 4’x6′ murals include tributes to five sheriff’s deputies who have lost their lives since the 1800’s and will be displayed at the Harford County Sheriff’s Office headquarters on Main Street and at the Harford County Detention Center.
Bel Air High School art teacher Karen Ballard and sheriff’s deputy Shawn Forton, a recognized artist, worked with the students who painted the murals, which included taking them on a field trip to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington D.C.
Weather permitting, the event will be held on the front steps of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.
In case of rain, the event will move inside to the first floor conference room.
