Johnny D. Guillen Pimentel admitted that he had sneaked up on four women and slashed at their buttocks with either a razor or box-cutter.
On Monday, Pimentel pleaded guilty to two counts each of malicious wounding and unlawful wounding.
He now faces up to seven years behind bars.
Five other charges against him were dropped as part of a plea deal.
The motive behind Pimentel’s attacks has not yet been explained.
Police connected Pimentel to nine women who were victims of attacks at local malls including Fair Oaks Mall, Fairfax Towne Center, Greenbriar Shopping Center and Tysons Corner Mall in 2011.
Pimentel was taken into custody in January 2012 in Peru and then extradited to the United States so he could stand trial.
He will be sentenced on September 6th.
