A vote this week will determine whether or not school employees in Anne Arundel County will receive pay raises.
On Wednesday, the county’s school board will vote on terms of employment that would give salary step increases and cost-of-living adjustments to many school district employees.
The cost-of-living adjustments would range from 1 to 2 percent of employees’ salaries, depending on position. Those hikes would then go into effect in July.
The step increases would go into effect in early 2014.
School board president Andrew Pruski says that the “money is definitely there” for the increases, but he refused further comment as the negotiations are ongoing.
