US Naval Academy Two Naval Academy grads killed in Alabama crashTwo Naval Academy graduates were killed and three were injured in a car crash in Alabama on Sunday.

Patrick Hunt Drury, 25, of Alexandria, Virginia, and Kyle Christopher McArthur, 25, of Coronado, California, died following a two-vehicle accident just before 4 a.m. Sunday morning.

The collision occurred about three miles south of York, Alabama.

Both men had graduated from the Naval Academy in 2011, according to Naval Academy spokesman Cmdr. John Schofield.

Drury and McArthur were passengers in an SUV that struck a vehicle that was parked along the shoulder of the highway, said Trooper Charles J. Dysart with the Alabama Department of Public Works.

Three other people who had been traveling with Drury and McArthur sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken two a local hospital. They were identified as Kyle Webber (driver), 24, and passengers Blaine Lander, 23, of Catonsville, and 25-year-old Brian Goss.

Webber and Lander also graduated with the Naval Academy’s class of 2011. Goss graduated with the class of 2010.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing at this hour.
