Officers responded to an apartment in Glen Burnie at around 5:30 p.m. Friday evening and found a 57-year-old woman suffering from dog bites.
As officers approached the woman, a pit bull tried to attack her. When the dog charged at the officers, they stunned it with an electronic device, instantly killing the dog.
Officers then found a 53-year-old man who had also sustained dog bites.
Both were taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore where they underwent surgery.
The victims’ injuries are reportedly severe, but not life-threatening.
Police say the victims were dog-sitting for one of their children.
