The Ravens’ running back was robbed at gunpoint along the 7500 block of Haverford Avenue in Philadelphia on Sunday. His BMW was also stolen in the incident.
The vehicle was later recovered and searched for possible clues.
Police say Pierce and a male companion were shaken but uninjured during the robbery.
Sources say a gunman jumped out from a car nearby while his accomplice stayed behind the wheel and robbed Pierce and his companion, then stole the BMW.
The Ravens have issued a statement, saying, “We have been in contact with Bernard and we are aware of the situation.”
Philadelphia police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
