Things aren’t getting any better for Aaron Hernandez – in fact, they’re getting much, much worse.
The former NFL tight end – already charged with murder in the death of an acquaintance – is now being investigated in connection with a double murder in Boston in July of last year, according to law enforcement officials.
The Boston Police Department has reportedly located and impounded an SUV that authorities have been attempting to locate for close to a year. That SUV has been linked to the scene of a 2012 double homicide.
Investigators now believe that Hernandez may have been renting the SUV at the time of those murders.
Hernandez, who was released by the New England Patriots on Wednesday, will be back in a courtroom on Thursday for a bail hearing.
A second man arrested in connection with Odin Lloyd’s death is also expected to appear before a judge.
Carlos Ortiz was arrested in Bristol, Connecticut, on Wednesday and will have an initial hearing in Massachusetts as early as Thursday.
