NEW YORK — Their timing couldn’t last forever. Chris Davis and Chris Tillman have often had their stars aligned this season, a trend that has brought the Orioles dominant results.
Prior to Saturday, Davis had homered in seven of Tillman’s first 17 starts this season, and Baltimore had yet to lose in those circumstances. Davis drilled another homer on Saturday — his fifth straight in games pitched by Tillman — but the Yankees overcame his power to earn a 5-4 victory.
And with the win, the Yankees (48-39) stopped short the best streak of Tillman’s career.
