Prosecutors say Aaron Thomas was arraigned on first-degree rape charges and appeared in court via closed circuit TV.
Thomas has been dubbed the “East Coast Rapist” thanks to a series of sexual assaults over more than ten years from Rhode Island to Virginia.
In March, he was sentenced to multiple life terms in Virginia for crimes – including the rapes of teenage trick-or-treaters back in 2009.
The very same month, he was indicted for assaults in Prince George’s County that took place between 1997 and 2001.
Thomas will have a status hearing on August 16 and will stay at the county detention center for the duration of the case.
