Ray Lewis Ravens to induct Ray Lewis into Ring of Honor this seasonThe Ravens aren’t wasting any time in honoring their star linebacker.

The organization will immortalize Ray Lewis in a Ring of Honor ceremony on Sunday, September 22, during their Week 3 game against the Houston Texans.

Shortly after the end of the season, owner Steve Bisciotti said that the Ravens would erect a statue of Lewis outside the stadium – but that statue won’t be finished in time for the Ring of Honor ceremony.

Lewis will join five other Ravens, former owner Art Modell and eight Baltimore Colts in receiving the prestigious honor.

The other Ravens players in the Ring of Honor include running back Jamal Lewis (2012), kicker Matt Stover (2011), tackle Jonathan Ogden (2008), outside linebacker Peter Boulware (2006) and defensive end Michael McCrary (2004).

It represents just the first of what will certainly be many career honors that Lewis will receive, including being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
