To many Baltimore residents, the Ravens are priceless – and now Forbes has validated that sentiment.
In a newly-released list of the most valuable sports teams in the world sports, the Baltimore Ravens made the top 20.
The Ravens are in elite company, joining teams like Manchester United and the New York Yankees.
“As great brands and sports teams, you love to see momentum and right now, Baltimore and Baltimore Ravens are a team with momentum, a brand with momentum,” said David Warschawski, CEO of Warschawski Marketing Communications.
The value of the franchise goes from $1.09 billion up to $1.157 billion.
“When you’re winning on the field and you got a history of winning, that always helps – and look at the Ravens the past couple of years. We got a great track record of being a winning team. Having two Super Bowls under our belt and a Super Bowl last year certainly does not hurt us,” Warschawski said.
Baltimore is one of just two medium-sized cities to make the top 20.
Studies show the team’s national appeal is on the rise, and that means the Ravens’ fan base outside of Baltimore is growing.
“People love to be around great sports franchises and that helps attract business to the city of Baltimore. It helps us attract dollars. It also helps us to attract talent to the city of Baltimore. So all in all, this news is win-win for Baltimore,” Warschawski said.
