The driver of the MTA bus, Alan Jerome Shanks, 52, of Waverly Way, was transported by Baltimore County EMS personnel to Shock Trauma with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

>An investigation is under way after 1 person was killed and 10 others injured when an MTA bus collided with a pickup truck on Wednesday.

At about 5:15 p.m. ET, Baltimore County Police and Fire Personnel responded to Woodlawn Drive and Parallel Drive in Woodlawn for a report of a serious accident.

Upon arriving at the scene, responding officers found that a pickup truck and an MTA bus had been involved in a head-on collision.

The male driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene.

The male driver of the MTA bus sustained serious injuries and was taken to Shock Trauma.

The eight passengers on the bus were taken to area hospitals to be evaluated.

The Baltimore County Police Crash Team is now investigating the accident.

Woodlawn Drive is now closed between Security Boulevard and Parallel Drive.
