Local series ‘House of Cards’ makes history
Actors working right here in Maryland have been nominated for an Emmy.
Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright have been nominated for Emmy awards for acting in a television drama series.
The Netflix series “House of Cards” made Emmy history by being the first series delivered solely online to be nominated for the top drama award.
The most Emmy nods, 17, went to “American Horror Story: Asylum.” “Game of Thrones” got 16 nominations, while “Saturday Night Live” and the Liberace biopic “Behind the Candelabra” earned 15 nods each.
“House of Cards” co-stars Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright received acting nominations.
Another Netflix show, “Arrested Development,” didn’t earn a best comedy series nod but landed three nominations, including one for star Jason Bateman.
The awards ceremony will take place on September 22.
