UPDATE: The Ravens are also reportedly bringing back Tandon Doss.
Original story below…
It appears that fans weren’t the only ones frustrated with the Ravens’ inability to catch the football during Sunday’s loss to the Denver Broncos.
Tight ends Ed Dickson and Dallas Clark dropped several key passes, drawing the ire of fans.
The Ravens will reportedly try out tight end Jake Ballard on Monday, according to Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports.
Ballard missed all of last season while recovering from a serious knee injury he sustained while playing for the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI.
The 2010 undrafted rookie had been competing for a job with the New England Patriots in training camp, but failed to make the final cut.
The 6’6″, 275-pound Ballard – out of Ohio State – caught 38 passes for 604 yards and 4 TDs in 2011 while playing for the Giants.
The Ravens do not confirm tryouts.
The Boldin-less Ravens, who have had issues with TEs and WRs up the middle, will work out former NYG/NE TE Jake Ballard on Monday.
