Police in Howard County are looking into the possible arson of a speed camera near Glenelg High School.
A newspaper courier phoned 911 at about 5 a.m. ET on Saturday morning to report the camera on fire.
Fire officials quickly arrived at the scene and put out the flames. No one was injured in the incident.
A subsequent investigation by arson experts revealed that the camera had intentionally been set on fire.
A new camera will be set up by the time school starts on Monday morning.
Police are offering a reward of up to $500 for any information about who set the camera on fire.
