GLEN BURNIE – A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting that took place at a Sunoco in Anne Arundel County in September.
Clayton Leonard Mooring Jr., 39, of Glen Burnie, has been harged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of attempted second degree-murder, two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault and multiple weapons charges.
On September 24, at about 1 a.m. ET, officers responded to the 400 block of Secret Bend for a report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 21-year-old male victim, Maryland, who had been shot while sitting in a vehicle at the Sunoco gas station located on Hospital Drive in Glen Burnie. The vehicle was exiting the lot when a second vehicle pulled alongside, a suspect got out and shot twice through the driver’s side of the vehicle the victim was in, striking the victim once in the abdomen.
The victim was taken to Shock Trauma in critical condition, but survived his injuries
Mooring was located and arrested on October 2 in the area of Ingram Court in Glen Burnie.
During the execution of a search warrant at his residence, a handgun which was reported stolen out of Montgomery County was recovered.
Mooring is currently being held in the Anne Arundel County Detention Center without bail.
