On Monday, Elizabeth Haley Meyers, 20, of Severn, was also charged with reckless driving, negligent driving, failure to yield the right of way and text messaging while driving.
The Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s Office says Meyers was attempting to drive her 2008 Chevy Cobalt across Route 3 in Gambrills on March 10th when she drove into the path of 30-year-old Jonathan Wesley Roberts of Virginia.
Roberts was pronounced dead at Baltimore Washington Medical Center
A witness told authorities he had seen Meyers texting as she pulled into the roadway. Cell phone records confirm the statement of the witness.
Meyers was arrested on October 2nd.
