MILLERSVILLE – Anne Arundel County Fire Chief Michael Cox and Police Chief Kevin Davis have announced that the 2013 Public Safety Expo will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013, from 10 a.m. to  3 p.m. ET at the Fire Department training complex, 415 Maxwell Frye Road near Veterans Highway in Millersville.

The event is a joint presentation by the Anne Arundel County Fire Department and the Anne Arundel County Police Department, along with a series of support agencies, and is designed to educate the citizens about the capabilities of emergency services in the county.

“This is a unique opportunity for us to meet our citizens and to demonstrate the strength of our most important resource – our emergency responders,” said Chief Cox and Davis. “We encourage all the members of our community to come out for this event.”

The expo will feature live interactive demonstrations and static displays designed to provide a variety of fun and educational experiences for all ages. Firefighters and Police will provide one-on-one education on fire prevention and public safety issues. In addition, representatives from the Volunteer Fire Fighters Association, and surrounding fire departments, will be present to display the latest in firefighting and rescue technology.

Other county agencies and organizations will also be on hand to relate how they support the mission of the Fire and Police Department. The Office of Emergency Management will be present to provide citizens with critical preparedness information for storms and other man-made and natural events that may affect the County.

The rain date for the event is Sunday October 13, 2013.
