Arrested Handgun seized, suspects arrested during Glen Burnie traffic stopGLEN BURNIE – Two men were taken into custody after a handgun was found during a routine traffic stop in Glen Burnie.

Just after 11:30 p.m. ET on Monday night, an officer stopped a vehicle in the area of Bruton Drive and Southbridge Drive in Glen Burnie for a registration violation.

While investigating the expired and altered tags, police and K-9 units arrived on the scene to inspect eh vehicle, having obtained a positive response for the odor of possible drugs in the car.

Both occupants were seated on a curb while officers searched the vehicle.

Officers located a jacket that had a .38-caliber revolver in the pocket.

The vehicle’s passenger, Tevin Devereaux McMillian, 20, of Severn, then jumped up and fled on foot. The driver, Aaron Jamal Whitten, 22, of Severn, remained at the scene and was taken into custody while officers pursued the Whitten. A police dog found him hiding in a nearby back yard and he was taken into custody.

It was learned that both McMillian and Whitten were prohibited from possessing firearms and they were charged accordingly.
