Amtrak Train Amtrak train derails south of BaltimoreBALTIMORE – An Amtrak train derailed in the B&P Tunnel south of Baltimore on Monday evening, halting all MARC Penn Line service in the area.

The Maryland Transit Administration and an Amtrak spokesman have confirmed the incident to the Baltimore News Journal, saying that all rail traffic has been temporarily suspended due to a train derailment.

Officials say the lead wheels on one of the trains came off the rails at around 7 p.m. ET. The train has about 160 passengers on board. No injuries have been reported.

Buses are now en route to thew BWI-Marshall Airport station to transfer passengers off MARC 544.
