COCKEYSVILLE – On Tuesday, Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz will officially open the County’s new Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) and transfer station.

The high-volume, modern facility will process residential mixed paper, bottles and cans efficiently and generate millions of dollars in revenue for the County.

The new, single-stream facility will process 35 tons of recyclables per hour, with the capacity to sort more than 70,000 tons of recyclables per year.

The new facility is a two-bay, top-loading facility and will accommodate two tractor-trailer trucks simultaneously with axle scales, for loading municipal solid waste.

Roy Kirby and Sons was the General Contractor for the project.
