LISBON – Howard County police are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect who is considered armed and dangerous.

Detectives are offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information.

Joshua Nathaniel Payne, 20, of no fixed address, is wanted for committing an armed robbery December 1 at the BP gas station on Frederick Road in Lisbon. Investigators are also looking into his possible involvement in additional robberies and a carjacking in neighboring jurisdictions.

Police believe Payne entered the gas station at around 1 p.m. ET and displayed a handgun. The clerk reported that Payne walked behind the counter and demanded money. The clerk gave him money from the cash register and Payne fled.

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating Payne, but are urging people not to approach him directly, as he is known to carry weapons.

Payne is originally from Frederick and is known to frequent areas around the Frederick, Carroll and western Howard County lines.
