ARNOLD; 8:39 p.m. ET – BGE says about 2,500 customers were without power after a transformer exploded in Anne Arundel County on Wednesday night.

Crews say the transformer was located near the 84 Lumber at 1690 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard.

The westbound Route 50 ramp to northbound Ritchie HIghway was closed while crews worked to put out the fire.

There were also reports of wires down in the area due to the blast.

Motorists in the area should expect delays for the next few hours.
