Severn man arrested in connection with thefts from autos

Johnathan Brewster Severn man arrested in connection with thefts from autosSEVERN; 10:24 a.m. ET – A Severn man is in police custody in connection with several recent cases of thefts from autos in Anne Arundel County.

At about 6 a.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to the unit block of Saint Ives Drive in Severna Park for a report of a theft from auto. The caller reported that his vehicle had been ransacked overnight.

Upon arriving at the scene, police spoke with the victim, who said he had seen a suspicious blue/green Honda Accord with Virginia plates driving through the neighborhood.

Responding officers located the suspicious vehicle on Saint Ives Drive and conducted a traffic stop.

The driver was identified as Johnathan Lee Brewster, 31, of Severn. During the traffic stop, officers noticed a GPS that had been programmed to an address on Devonshire Court in the same community. Officers responded to that location and found a vehicle ransacked.

Further investigation revealed several victims of theft from auto in the community of Chartwell. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

Brewster has been charged with numerous theft charges.
