By taking the right measures, we can have a positive influence on our skin and slow down the signs of aging. Here are some of the best ways to do so. 

Wear Sunblock 

One of the biggest causes of drier and age looking skin is prolonged exposure to the sun.  Since the sun plays such a large role in the quality of our skin, it’s important that you protect yourself from it. The great news is that it’s as simple as wearing sunblock.

A lot of people only think that sunblock is necessary for extremely sunny days. However, the truth is that even overcast days can start to take its toll on our skin. Apply an SPF of 30 or higher every day, even in cloudy conditions. When exposed to extreme sun, it is also recommended to wear a hat with a wide brim. 

Use Self Tanner 

A lot of people love bronzed skin on themselves. In many cases, it can be flattering and even make you look thinner. However, it is not recommended to use tanning beds or lay out in the sun with tanning cream. Instead, use self tanner derived from natural ingredients. The least amount of UV rays that you expose your skin to the better. 

Eat Well 

You’ve probably heard the expression “you are what you eat.” Eating a well-balanced diet can make a significant difference in not only the way that you feel but also the way that you look

Try to eat many fresh fruits and vegetables and avoid highly processed foods.  Certain studies even suggest that eating less sugar could significantly lower damage associated with premature aging. 

Exercise 

Exercising doesn’t just help keep you slim. It improves your circulation, which leads to the skin looking plumper and smoother. Try to incorporate at least 30 minutes of exercise a day into your routine. Even something as simple as walking around the block can make a difference in your skin’s appearance. 

Clean Your Skin  

It’s important to clean your skin every night. Washing away the pollution and other particles that your skin picks up on throughout the day can make a big difference in the appearance of your skin. Following cleansing, you should also apply a moisturizer before sunblock.
